Information Design for Visualizing History Museum Artifacts

In the past few years, museum visualization systems have become a hot topic that attracts many researchers’ interests. Several systems provide Web services for browsing museum collections through the Web. In this paper, we proposed an intelligent museum system for history museum artifacts, and described a study in which we enable access to China and Japan cultural heritage information from two ...

Semantics: Meanings and Contexts of Artifacts

English dictionaries trace the origin of the word, 'experience' to knowledge of or skill in making experiments. Its etymology suggests an important conceptual truth: experiences are not merely personal and subjective but crucially related to interacting with something of interest, an artifact, an activity, or a situation involving other people. What we will explore here must therefore overcome ...

3D Geometric and Haptic Modeling of Hand-Woven Textile Artifacts

Haptic Modeling of textile has attracted significant interest over the last decade. In spite of extensive research, no generic system has yet been proposed. The majority of the haptic models developed in the previous work assume a 2D mesh model for the textile which does not represent the real geometric configuration of the textile. In addition, they are based on empirical parameters obtained f...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
